We offer a theory revision day for experienced ops like yourself, to cover the requirements of the CPCS 360 excavator test. Our next one is on Monday 4th March if you wanted to attend?

After that, if you are confident to proceed with the CPCS 360 Excavator Technical Test, then we can discuss dates.

You will also need to have completed the CITB HS&E test within the last two years, which you can sit with us if you’d like.

Upon achievement you will gain a red CPCS card, which is valid for 2 years. Within that time you’ll need to complete your Level 2 NVQ to upgrade to a blue CPCS card. The cost for this will depend on where you are working, as this assessment will be carried out on site.

There is no CPCS app of the Renewal Tests, but I hear there are a few bogus ones around!

The factsheets are the only CPCS approved revision material available as far as I am aware.

The factsheets can be found here under RT61.

I’m afraid there is no App for the CPCS RT renewal tests, only one for the CITB HS&E tests (operatives/ specialist or managers/professional). You will need to sit the CITB Managers and Professionals test for renewing your AP blue card.

The only revision material for the RT61 test is via the factsheets, which you will need to study prior to sitting the test.

The RT40 renewal test factsheets can be found here. We do not have access to the questions and answers unfortunately.

Whilst I hear through the grapevine that there an interactive version of the factsheets in development, there is nothing released at the time of writing this.

Thanks for getting in touch. I’m afraid you can’t extend the blue card for 12 months, you’ll have to renew the card for a 5 year period.

I hear that CPCS are currently working on a video as another option to studying the RT factsheets. However, these are not yet in operation. For the time being it’s just the factsheets im afraid. However, if you are struggling with them then give us a call and we may be able to set aside an hour to go through them with you.

You will be able to request a voiceover when sitting the test at a test centre.

To renew your blue AP card, you will need to sit the RT61 renewal module test along with the CITB HS&E Managers & Professionals (MAP) Test (if you have not already passed this within the last 2 years).

Once you have completed both tests you will need to submit the renewal F1.3 form to CPCS.

We’ve sent the revision factsheets and application form to you via email.
