    Jim,

    Thanks for getting in touch, I have sent you an email.

    From 28th March 2018 onwards the A17D category is changing to A77 and will be separate from the standard telescopic handler grouping.

    The effects of this are as follows;

    -existing cardholders with the A17D category (prior to 28th March) will need to do an additional practical test to retain the category. Although, unlikely to affect you until your existing able card is up for renewal.

    – those that don’t hold already the A17D category by April 2018, will have to complete the A77 (Telescopic Handler 360 slew) theory and practical test. This will also incorporate use of the winch attachment. The A17E category is however awarded upon achievement of the A77 category and is not a separate test.

    I’d be happy to give you a call just to explain the pros and cons and help you make an informed decision on whether to proceed and gain the category prior to the CPCS changes or not.

    Thanks again,

    Team ACOP
