Excavator vs Weather by Siôn Jones | 16 Jul 2012 | General | 10 comments Excavator training goes ahead on a CASE 210 despite the poor weather conditions. Let’s all pray for a dry spell soon! 10 Comments simon milton on 19 September 2012 at 1:25 PM could you give me a price for excavator training please Siôn Jones on 20 September 2012 at 9:25 AM Hi Simon, Thanks for the enquiry. What is you level of experience on the excavator? Regards, John Campbell on 25 October 2012 at 1:59 AM Hi mark. I am after a price for excavator training. I am an HGV Driver from Newport Gwent and a total novice to any kind of plant machinery. Siôn Jones on 25 October 2012 at 10:36 AM Hi John, I have sent you a email with some course instruction. As a novice operator I would recommend a minimum of a 10 day course, to give you some of the basic skills in excavator operation. However if you are new to the industry you may find a dumper, dump truck, slinger/signaller, roller, tractor or tele handler course would be an easier (and possibly cheaper) route into the construction industry. Only a suggestion. Thanks again, Paul Chubb on 7 November 2012 at 5:23 PM Hi i`m after a package of excavator/ dumper training with a view to becoming self employed, i have used a mini digger before, but 25 years ago, can you help, and what sort of qualifications will i gain many thanks Paul.. Siôn Jones on 8 November 2012 at 6:39 PM Paul, Thanks for the enquiry. If you can give me a better idea of your background/ experience on plant, then I’ll work out a training plan to get you back in the operators seat as soon as possible. I’ve also sent you some details via email. Regards, Dominic walker on 14 January 2013 at 8:44 PM Hi I am looking to get my CPCS card in excavator and dumper operation I have been driving excavators up to 13 ton for 5 years now and I have 3 of my own and do some ground works I have a 2 tonner 3 and 13 and a 3 ton dumper so I would like to get the card sorted what best I do ? Thanks Siôn Jones on 15 January 2013 at 10:47 AM Hi Dominic, Thanks for the enquiry. You’ll need to come to my site in order to complete the assessments, where are you based? I would recommend you complete the CPCS (A59A) technical test (above 10 tonnes), this will then cover you on all sizes of tracked excavator. There is now also a lifting operations (A59C) endorsement for the 360, should you require it? The first thing we’ll need to complete is the Health Safety and Environmental test for operatives, I will happily organise this on your behalf. Are you a levy payer to the CITB? You may be eligible for grants if so! I hope that helps? I have also sent some additional info via email. Thanks. William on 21 January 2013 at 8:44 AM Hello. I have got my F T dumper cpcs blue card but really want to take my digger ticket above 10 ton. I have little experiance on diggers. And want to keep the cost down. Can you send me a price to take the test. Thankyou Siôn Jones on 27 January 2013 at 11:39 AM Hi William, Thanks for the enquiry. I’m not sure how we can keep costs down if you have little experience on excavators? However, can you give me an idea of the type of work that you have done on a 360? To give you an idea of what’s involved with the test, please see the 360 video in my blog. On average someone starting from scratch would need up to 10 days training to get up to test standard. I’ve emailed you some additional info. Regards, Submit a CommentYour email address will not be published.
