    Hi Simon,
I can offer you an excavator assessment no problem! What is your level of experience?

Regarding the A65 demolition categorY, unfortunately i don’t currently offer it myself, but i’ve emailed you a list of training providers that do.

    Thanks for the enquiry.

hi looking for some information as i worked on construction for 8 years was doing my nvq to get blue card but person doing it left traing place and they have now closed my red cards ran out couple year ago for telescopic handler all sizes exc 360 slew my agriculture tractor and my lorry loader hook would i have to do all these again to get a blue card???

    thanks eric

  6. Siôn Jones

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for getting in touch. An interesting query here!

Usually, if your red card has expired for over a year and you have not been registered for an NVQ, you’d basically have to start from scratch. And as CPCS reluctantly issue a second red card, you’d have to do an NVQ also.

However, it sounds like you have some grounds to appeal that decision, especially if you were registered for the NVQ and the centre have not been able to honour the assessment .i.e. fold up.

The outcome will probably depend on how long ago this was, but give me a call (or email me your card details) and I’ll be happy to challenge it with CPCS.

    All the best,

  7. Justin

    Hi Simon
I’ve been a single parent for ten years, before that I worked for Milton Keynes council for seven years on highways and byways department .and before that I done 6 years for Jenson construction .i have drove all plant from dumpers to diggers upto jcb 3cx as well as telescopic all terrain. I done this on some of the biggest buildings in m.k and beyond ,
I would like to go back into digger driving and could do with some advice and costing.
    Yours thankfully
    Justin

  8. Siôn Jones

    Hi Justin,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

I would recommend coming to me for an assessment prior to completing a course on excavators, it is the easiest way to give a comprehensive quote.

However, i have run a short 3 day course in the past for experienced operators who are looking to get back in the seat after a career break.

Regarding forward tipping dumpers, the test is pretty straightforward if you have driven them before. We run familiarisation days on these to go through the theory and practical requirements prior to sitting the CPCS technical test.

You’ll probably benefit from a minimum of a two day course on a telehandler as there is a lot to cover in that time.

Upon achievement of the CPCS theory and practical tests, these categories will be added to your red card.

There are plenty of cheap B&B’s in the area.

I’ve emailed you a pricing structure.

    Thanks,

  9. Andrew skidmore

  10. Siôn Jones

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for the enquiry.

I have a 4 day telehandler course starting next Monday 9th if you are interested?

You will sit your CPCS test on Thursday 12th, and upon achievement this will lead onto a red CPCS card for the telehandler.

If you are interested in reserving a space please let me know and i’ll forward you the joining instructions.

    Thanks again,

  11. andrew thomas

I did my mobile crane licence with you through my employer, I am now looking to do my blue card and was wondering about the dreaded cost.

  12. Ian Stephenson

Could anyone please advice me on where to find the theory questions and answers for Category A98 Lifting Operations ?

  13. Siôn Jones

Thanks for getting back in touch Andrew. I’ve sent you an email with some information regarding joining up.

    Speak soon.

  14. Siôn Jones

    Ian,

We offer theory revision sessions for excavators (A59) and lifting ops (A98) on a weekly basis.

If you are interested in reserving a place please let me know?

    Thanks,

  15. graham watson

hi ian, i have driven a telehandler for 15 years but inhouse. i am taking the CPCS test and am wondering how strict is the test with regards to theory part, and what do you have to do on the practical side.
    many thanks

  16. Siôn Jones

    Graham,

When are you looking to sit your CPCS test? We offer a days revision for experienced operators to go over the theory and what’s involved practically – to include familiarisation on the machine and scaffold tower.

    I’ve sent you an email.

    Thanks,

  17. Mike Featherstone

  19. David cannon

Hi I’m looking for a cpcs telehandler course I’ve had a npors licence for 1 year but need a cpcs card, what are the prices for course also location.

  20. Siôn Jones

    David,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Our next CPCS telehandler course is on the 1st September.

    You have two options;

    – Option 1. This is a 2 day course the first day is dedicated to theory training and some familiarisation on the machine. The second day will be your test day.

    – Option 2. This is a full 5 day course, with the test on the 5 day.

Both options include a CSCS test if required.

Hope to hear from you soon.

  21. Siôn Jones

    Aaron,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Since your CPCS red card has expired for over five years, you now have an option of going back to red by completing the CPCS theory and practical test on the articulated dump truck (A56B).

However, if you wish to go straight to blue, you’ll also need to complete your NVQ.

I’ve sent you an email with some more info.

    Thanks,

    Sion

  22. Siôn Jones

    Mike,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

We regularly run theory revision days for experienced operators such as yourself. This will give you the opportunity to go through the questions with one of our instructors to ensure full understanding.

It is up to you when you’d like to sit the CPCS test after this, you may want to give yourself some time to revise some of the answers prior to booking the test.

When it comes to the test day, the theory test is a verbal question and answer session, and so there’s no writing involved.

Furthermore, during the test, we can rephrase some of the questions to aid understanding.

Give us a call if you’d like to discuss this further or book a revision session.

    Thanks,
