Labourer

Level 1 NVQ in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

To gain the CSCS green card you will need to have achieved the Level 1 NVQ in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.

You will also need to achieve the CITB Health, safety and environment test for operatives.

Supervisory

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction)

This CSCS card is for site supervisors and those bearing an advanced craft.

To gain the CSCS gold card you will need to achieve a minimum of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction)
You will also need to achieve the CITB Health, safety and environment test for supervisors.

NVQ assessment (and SVQ assessment)

NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification and applies to Wales and England. SVQ is the Scottish equivalent.

If you want to progress to a CPCS competent operator you must undertake an NVQ assessment within two years of achieving your red trained operator card.
