DESCRIPTION:A 5 day CPCS Slinger/ signaller – all duties (A40A) course. Maximum of 4 delegates. \nThe aim of this course is to provide candidates with practical and theoretical knowledge to help undertake the role of a slinger/signaller. This qualification covers slinger/signaller – all duties. \nThrough a combination of targeted training and experience\, a slinger/signaller will be able to: \nSlinger/ signaller course content\n\nRoles and responsibilities\n\nDescribe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a slinger/signaller\n\nPreparing for work\n\nName and explain the purpose of differing types of lifting equipment and lifting accessories\, basic construction\, uses and applications\, characteristics and terminology\nConform with manufacturer’s requirements as per technical data\, other types of information source and relevant regulations and legislation\nInterpret and extract information on all relevant documentation\nUndertake all pre-use checks on non-specialist lifting accessories (relevant to the endorsement) and identify non-serviceable items\nIdentify specialist lifting accessories relevant to the endorsement\nExplain when additional skills and knowledge for lifting operations may be required\nExplain procedures for placing non-serviceable items out-of-service\n\nSetting up for work\n\nConfirm methods of communication with the machine operator\nIdentify centres of gravity and establish weights of loads\nPrepare and ready the area of operation and maintain exclusion zones\nChoose the relevant lifting accessory for a given load\nExplain actions required for hazards including underground and overhead services\n\nSlinger/ signaller working tasks\n\nSecure and detach various types of load to the requisite lifting point using the relevant lifting accessory and procedures\nEnsure load balance\, security and integrity\nGuide and control the movement of loads to different types of location\nExplain the importance and locations of positions of safety for a slinger and other personnel\nAccurately place loads\nUse and comply with a range of communication procedures\nProvide directions where the machine operator cannot observe the full path of the load\nMaintain safe working situations\n\nWorking tasks (pick and carry duties)\n\nAssess and confirm that the area for machine movement is suitable for manoeuvring activities and contains suitable locations to undertake marshalling duties (endorsements A\, D and E)\nControl loads during pick-and-carry duties (endorsements A\, D and E)\n\nCompleting work\n\nCarry out out-of-service and securing procedures\n\n\nFor your reference you can download the relevant questions for the theory test. \nACOP Group is accredited by both CPCS and NPORS.

DESCRIPTION:We are running 6 day CPCS Appointed person (A61) course\, \nThis involves 5 consecutive days training from Monday to Friday\, with CPCS technical test on the following Monday. \nThis course is designed for individuals appointed to plan and manage lifting operations on site. \nIf the A40 slinger/signaller category is already held under CPCS\, then the Crane Supervisor endorsement is also issued upon successful completion of the AP course. \nSpaces are limited to 6 delegates per course. \nThe aim of this course is to provide candidates with practical and theoretical knowledge to help undertake the role of an Appointed Person/ lift planner. \nAppointed Person course content\nThrough a combination of targeted training and experience\, an appointed person will be able to:
